A ridge vent is installed along the peak of the roof. It allows warm, humid attic air to escape as part of a balanced ventilation system.

Why It Matters

Attic ventilation helps reduce trapped heat and moisture. A ridge vent can improve airflow, but only when the roof also has enough intake ventilation.

Common Problems

Problems include blocked vent openings, missing intake ventilation, short ridge vent runs, improper ridge cap installation, and mixing incompatible ventilation systems.
